How have Interstate's batteries been enhanced to keep up with changes in vehicles (i.e. electronics, high under hood heat)

There have been multiple enhancements to the Interstate product to achieve the best performance and service life in the industry.

    • Positive plate – The ‘Powerframe’ positive grid is a recent enhancement which is a new process of manufacturing that insures all of the plates are within the tightest variation. This enhancement helps to ensure that minimum deviation in the positive grid and ultimately, the plate design makes the entire battery the most consistent to date.
    • Negative plate – The negative plate has been enhanced over the past few years to reduce the effects of internal heat within the battery. Battery heat has increased tremendously, due to increased under hood temperatures, and the negative plate chemical paste material has been specifically designed to counter the reduced life that the damaging heat causes.
    • Electrolyte – An addition of an electrolyte chemical allows the battery to take on the damaging discharges (leaving the interior or exterior lights on and severely draining the battery). This chemical additive allows the battery to accept an effective recharge after a severe discharge.
